Sale's Big Tidy Up campaign started in October 2011 with the campaign becoming the SALE WOMBLES in October 2012. The Chairman is Will Jones, who focuses on Timperley events. Helen Bayliss has responsibilities of Treasurer, coordinator of Nursery and Outreach Programmes. Geoff Densham manages BRIDGEWATER WOMBLES. Our TIMPERLEY TIDIERS team is managed by David Waddell.
We are delighted to advise that during 2019 we have welcomed two more groups to the Womble family. ASHTON WOMBLES led by Diane and Nick Plunkett, and SALE MOOR WOMBLES led by Claire Marshall. In 2020 another group was formed - BROOKLANDS WOMBLES - Team Leader is Mark Eaton. The WOMENS' INSTITUTE WOMBLES, based at Heywood Road in Sale, also arrived in August 2020 -Team Leader Elaine Benson.

Giving a little of your time is easy and volunteers go away feeling proud of their achievements, and are often thanked by passers-by. Recent new volunteers said they really enjoyed it and didn't want to stop Warning - it seems litter picking can be addictive!
